Ultimate Pork And Chicken Dry Rub

  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup salt
  • 4 Tbsp smoked paprika
  • 2 Tbsp coarse black pepper
  • 1/2 Tbsp cumin
  • 1/2 Tbsp onion powder
  • 1/2 tbps garlic powder
  • 1 tsp cayenne pepper
  1. Combine all ingredients together in a bowl. Adjust amounts to suit your own taste.
    • For a sweeter rub: Use more brown sugar, cane sugar or turbinado
    • For a more savory rub: Use salt, onion powder garlic powder, dry mustard, chili powder, cumin, paprika, celery salt
    • For a spicier rub: Use cayenne pepper, red chili flakes, dried chipotle.  Add in small amounts until desired spice/heat level is achieved.
  2. Transfer to an airtight serving container (like a mason jar or other dry rub container).
  3. Rub will keep for up to 1 year if sealed tight and kept in a cool place.
