- 1 square butter, melted
- 2 cups warm water
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 2 tsp salt
- 2 eggs
- 2 Tbsp dry yeast
- 5 1/2 cups flour
- Additional melted butter for dipping (see Step 7)
- Beat butter, warm water, sugar, salt and eggs until well combined
- Add yeast and flour, then beat well. Mixture will be quite soft
- Let rise for 1 hour at room temperature
- Put in refrigerator for at least 1 hour
- Roll out dough on heavily floured board to about 3/8″ thickness
- Use a cup or circle cutter to cut dough into 2″ circles
- Dip one end of the dough into melted butter and place on a cookie sheet, folding in half
- Let rise 1 hour at room temp
- Bake for about 12 minutes at 425o
